Thoubal: Kakching Police seized huge quantities of Indian made foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Distilled Illicit Country (DIC) liquor on Tuesday.
As per police sources, on Tuesday at about 2.30 PM, Kakching Police received a reliable information that some persons had stocked huge quantities of IMFL/DIC at Pallel Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai.
Immediately a combined police team led by Subedar Birla Soraisham, OC, Kakching commando with SI Rocky Singh, SI Mothilphun Dangshawa of Pallel PS and HC Napoleon Singh, along with their team comprising women personnel rushed to the area and raided the suspected houses and conducted house searches at Pallel Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai.
The police sources said that during the house search, a huge amount of IMFL/DIC liquors were seized. They include four boxes of Sterling Reserve 750 ml, six boxes of Sterling Reserve 375 ml, five boxes of Sterling Reserve 180 ml, 20 boxes of MC Dowells 750 ml, five boxes of MC Dowells 375 ml, five boxes of MC Dowells 180 ml, 13 boxes of Old Monk 750 ml, five boxes of
Officer’s Choice (OC) 750 ml, two boxes of Officer’s Choice (OC) 375 ml, six boxes of Royal Stag 750 ml, one box of Royal Stag 375 ml, one box of Magic Moments Vodka 375 ml, two bixes of Magic Moments Vodka 180 ml, seven boxes of King Fisher Beer 500 ml, King Fisher Beer 650 ml bottles, three boxes of Tuborg Beer 500 ml, three boxes of Diablo Beer 500 ml, one box of Maximus 500 ml, three boxes of Imperial Blue 700 ml, two boxes of Imperial Blue 350 ml, one box of Imperial Blue 175 ml, one box of MC Dowel 175 ml, eight bottles of Old Monk 750 ml, seven bottles of Old Monk 750 ml, 18 bottles of Old Monk 375 ml, 21 bottles of Sterling Reserve 375 ml, 12 bottles of MC Dowel 180 ml, 14 bottles of Magic Moments Vodka 750 ml, 19 bottles of Magic Moments Vodka 375 ml, 47 numbers of Myanmar can 330 ml, 10 numbers of Myanmar can 500 ml, 16 numbers of Diablo Beer 500 ml, 26 bottles of DIC 1 litre liquor and 78 bottles of DIC 0.5 litre.
At least four individuals have been apprehended for possessing the illegal liqours by observing formalities.
They have been identified as Thongam Dingku Meitei (25), son of Th. Kumar Meitei of Pallel Maning Leikai; Moirangthem Rabi Meitei (40), son of M.Nandabi Meitei of Pallel Mamang Leikai; Salam Yaimabi Devi (55), wife of Late S. Nersing of Pallel mamang Leikai and Moirangthem Jamuna Devi (50), wife of Late M. Munal Singh of Pallel Mamang Leikai.
The arrested accused persons along with the seized liquors have been handed over to Pallel PS for or necessary action against them, it said.
