Imphal: Decrying disqualification and conviction of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, City District Congress Committee (CDCC) organised a District Level Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha at Uripok Bachaspati Leikai on Wednesday.
A press released issued by the MPCC said that the protest was organised as a part of nation-wide Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha showing solidarity with the leader Rahul Gandhi’s fearless and uncompromising fight for the people and the country.
G Dayananda Sharma presided over the Sabha, which was joined by many office bearers of DCC and BCCs.
Speaking at the Sabha protest, MPCC Senior vice-president Vidyapati Senjam spoke on political, legal, democratic and contemporary issues, exposing the link between Prime Minister Modi and Gautam Adani in promoting crony capitalism.
He stressed on fighting against dictatorship under Modi-Shah Raj, which is remotely controlled by Adani groups. He reminded the sacrifices made by Gandhi-Nehru family for the country.
MPCC Senior VP Vidyapati Senjam, MPCC General Secretary, M. Ranjit Singh, Secretary MPCC L.Chandrakumar Singh, N. MPCC Secretaries Jayentakumar, S Johny Meitei, Ramprakash and other Congress leaders attended the protest.
On the other hand, the District Level Satyagraha meeting was also held at Awang Jiri organised by Imphal West District Congress Committee.
The meeting was attended by Ex-MP Inner Manipur Lok Sabha, Dr Th. Meinya Singh, Ex-Minister N. Biren Singh, Chairman Kishan Congress/Ex-INC Candidate L.Nando Singh, VP of Imphal West DCCH. Ibotombi Singh and other Congress leaders.
After the meeting, all the Congress party workers formed human chain and shouted slogans against BJP’s dictatorship divisive policy. Placards were held that read as ‘We stand with Rahul Gandhi’, ‘Congress party stands against capital capitalism’, ‘Congress stands for poor and that common man’, ‘Do not protect Adani under the grab of nationalism’, etc.
The party workers also pledged to stand with Rahul Gandhi in fight to save democracy and fight against BJP-RSS ideology of falsehood.
