Imphal: The 13th Chalou Cup Village Wise Men’s Open 9 A-Side Football Tournament 2023, organized by Chalou Youth Union Club (CHYUC) commenced at Kanglou Lampak of the CHYUC playground on Sunday.
Altogether 21 teams divided into 7 groups namely FC Tam Sekta (A), FC Machal Khurai, BSU Nongpok Kakching, FC MCJ Sajiwa, Central H/S Chalou, YDCL Pungdongbam (B), NNCKC Nongren, SPYC Seijang, YDCL Pungdongbam (A), EUSC Tellou, FC Khurai, YYC Yourabung, LSIC Lamlai, FC Sanjenbam, Loushingkol Chana, FC Lamlai, CHYUC Chalou, FC Nongada, FC Tama (B) and TAYC Tangkham are participating.
In the opening match, FC Machal Khurai overwhelmed FC TAM Sekta (A) by 2-0 goals as Biken scored the opening goal in the 21st minute and Rishikanta also added another goal in the 43rd minute of the match. During the match, P.K and Sanathoi of FC TAM (A) while Rishikanta of FC Machal got yellow cards.
