Imphal: The office of Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council, Thoubal district has started observing a three week “Swachh Utsav 2023” women-led sanitation campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission within its jurisdiction from Thursday with the objective of making a garbage free city/town in collaboration with
Caretaker Councillors, ex WDC Members, students’ organisations, local clubs, SHGs and ALF.
On the first day of the cleanliness activities, Md.Anuwar Hussain, Chairman of AIl Manipur Muslim Minority Commission launched a mass social service in the presence of Md.Islaur Rahman, Caretaker
Vice-Chairperson and Mainam Rajen Singh, MMAS, MAHUD who is holding the charge of Executive Officer of the council. The program will continue up to March 30.
As a part of the campaign, a social service will be conducted at Lilong main market on March 17 to be followed by Lilong Jama Masjid on March 19, Lilong Ushoipokpi Bazar on March 20, Temple complex, Ibudhou Pureiromba, Ward No.8 on March 21, Chingkham Church
complex, Ward No.6 on March 22 and Municipal office complex on March 26.
An awareness programme on the role of women in sanitation activities will also be held at the
meeting hall of Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council office on March 30.
