CCPUR (DIO): Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava – Swachhta Pakhwada was observed on Friday at Bunglon Village, Churachandpur District with the theme ‘Plastic Free Village, Promotion of Green Villages.’
The programme was organised jointly by NYK, Churachandpur; District Information Office (DIPR) Churachandpur; PHED Churachandpur Division and Bunglon Youth Club.
Speaking on the occasion, H. Doungel, District Youth Officer, Ccpur encouraged the participants, particularly the youth leaders to declare the village as plastic free.
He said that visitors’ first impression of a village/locality is the physical and hygienic environment and urged all concerned to make the village plastic free and green. Elaborating, he further said that making a locality plastic free and green is cost effective. Installation of bins for plastic wastes at strategic locations of the locality is enough with the right awareness.
Th Mangminthang Gangte, DIO/DIPR also spoke about the need to maintain hygienic environment and make the village a green one.
Later, the participants mostly of the Bunglon Youth Club members collected plastic wastes within the locality as a part of the programme.
