Myanmar national sans valid documents arrested

Imphal: Based on an input, a team of Imphal East Commando detained one Myanmar national without holding any proper valid documents while conducting random checking at Lalambung Pung Makhong, RIMS Road in Imphal West after providing prior information to IW Control room on Wednesday at around 11.25 PM.

The Myanmar national has been identified as Zawhein (32), son of Zawmein of Chaungnatkyi village, Tamu Kayai, Myanmar. The police team seized one mobile phone and a sum of Rs. Rs. 25,150 from his possession, said a source.

Zawhein admitted that he had been staying at Imphal for the last three/four months without holding any proper legal/valid documents. The arrestee was engaged by one Thangsei (50) from Moreh and on his guidance and advice the arrestee was staying at Imphal and looking after the sick/injured Myanmar nationals by providing medical treatment at Imphal Hospital, who were sent by Thangsei illegally without holding any proper/valid documents for entering India, for the last three/four months.
The detained person along with the seized items has been handed over to Imphal Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action, informed the source.
