Imphal: The three individuals arrested by the Forest Department and Police on the charge of burning forest fire at Tentha Leiba Kangla hill under Thoubal Forest Division have been sent to Jail.
The persons arrested by the staff of Thoubal Forest Range and Khongjom Police were produced before the CJM Thoubal on March 15 and latter remanded to Police Custody for six days. The trio were again produced before the CJM Thoubal on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody till April 4.
The accused who have been sent to jail are Ningshen Moshang (52), son of late Ng. Thanni, Shinglai Reishangsing (27), son of S.Wungshungmei and Shimphrui Thotchan (26) son of Sh.Tamashing, all residents of Mumlo Ringpam Village in Tengnoupal District.
Notably, on March 14, Thoubal Control Room received report of a fire outbreak at Tentha Kangla Chingdol on Tuesday around 3.30 pm. Immediately, teams of Khongjom PS along with fire tender of Thoubal District rushed to the spot and put off the fire by around 5 pm.
During the fire accident safety operation, three individuals, suspected to have caused the wild fire were detained. Upon further question ing, the trio revealed that the fire accident happened when they ignited dry grasses while collecting honey from beehives in the forest. Police also seized one black colour Bajaj Pulsar 180 (MNO2AD-5752) from the foothill of the fire accident.
