Thoubal: A one day “Nata Sankritana” festival was held at Charangpat Maklang Mamang Leikai community Hall, Thoubal District, on Sunday.
The festival organised by “K. Ibotombi Cultural Academy “, Charangpat is being held under the Financial Assistance of Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi for the year 2019-20.
The inaugural event witnessed the presence of Director-in-Charge, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Pukhrambam Bilash as Chief Guest.
In his chief guest speech, Bilash who is also a Sangeet Natak Awardee lauded the teachers and students of KICA for preserving our valuable assets of Art and Culture like Nata Sankritana.
He also mentioned that the Ministry of Art and Culture, Government of India and Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi has provided financial assistance nowadays to promote Arts and Culture of the country.
He requested the teachers of cultural academies of our state to come to JN Manipur Dance Academy and apply for the same.
Later, as a part of the festival, demonstrations of Nata Sankritana was shown by the students of KICA.
Many local elders who were witnessing the festival were seen happiness at the Nata Sankritana.
