Imphal: Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised 9th free medical camp for internally displaced persons at Sajiwa Fabricated House near Sajiwa Jail, Imphal East district on Wednesday.
Under the aegis of RIMS authority, the Non- Teaching Employees Welfare Association tirelessly played a vital role in organising a series of free relief camps in different places of the State.
Khundrakpam AC MLA Thokchom Lokeshwar Singh had also paid a visit to the camp and appreciated RIMS authority, doctors, nurses, staff and non-teaching team for organising a free medical camp during which free medicines and sanitary pads were provided to the inmates.
He was also pleased with the assurance given by RIMS, to visit the Institute for treatment of inmates in which all treatment, medicines and investigation of inmates for internal displaced persons will be provided free of cost.
Dr. W. Ranbir Singh, President, NTEWA (Non- Teaching Welfare Association) on behalf of RIMS Director, Imphal and Medical Superintendent RIMS Hospital, Imphal conveyed that RIMS Hospital will provide all necessary help regarding treatment, medicines and will also provide ambulance service for the inmates whenever they required.
Eastern Motor Proprietor and staff of RIMS, H. Joyby also distributed notebooks and pens to the displaced school children staying at relief camp.
Dr. Dhanabir Laishram, Social Scientist also attended the free medical camp. A team of specialist doctors from various departments of Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obst. & Gynaecology, Dermatology, Clinical Psychology, Orthopedic and pediatrics departments gave treatments and provide health counseling to around 112 patients during the free medical camp.
The medical camp was also attended by Nursing Officials, staff and officials of RIMS, Imphal.
