ZUF clarifies

IMPHAL: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has clarified that Mr Raitu Chawang and its gang is no longer the members of ZUF as they have already merged to GPRN/NSCN on 26th Oct. 2019.

Zeliangrong people and its kindred tribe have rejected them as they were defected and merged to GPRN/NSCN (U) Kitovi group, KD. Gangmei, Information and Publicity Secretary, ZUF said in a press release. They have no moral authority to use the name of ZUF anymore as they were expelled since the day they defected and merged to GPRN/NSCN. Therefore, it’s our humble appeal to all the respected media house not to entertain any press statement or communication from Raitu Chawang group in the name of ZUF in the future, Gangmei added.

The ZUF also clarified that the caption ‘ZUF ultra arrested’ on 27th February, 2020 published in the Assam Tribute daily news paper claimed by Additional SP (Head Quarter) Jagadish Das in which  a cadre Mr. Pouthuilung Gonmei (45), a resident of Peren Dist. Nagaland was arrested has no relation with ZUF. There is no such name called Pouthuilung in the ZUF Government. The arrested cadre is belong to GPRN/NSCN(U) Ketovi group led by Raitu Chawang, the ZUF said.

In many occasions, GPRN/NSCN(U) led by Raitu Chawang and its goon-gang have been looted and kidnapped many contractors, companies and innocent people in Zeliangrong inhabited areas in the name of ZUF and the ZUF warn those who tarnish the good image of the organization in the future will be dealt with our iron hand, Gangmei said. We humbly appeal to all Zeliangrong people and its kindred tribe to continue to extend its cooperation to axe out those unwanted activities in our land, the Information and Publicity Secretary of ZUF appealed.
