Thoubal: The Yairipok Top Chingtha Farmers Club (YTFC) extended its gratitude to District Agricultural Officer, Imphal East and concerned Executive Officer for providing Urea fertilisers at government subsidized rate.
In a release signed by President YTFC M. Noren stated that the Agriculture Department, Imphal East has provided a half-bag of Urea fertiliser to each of the farmers of the Yairipok Top Chingtha area for the first phase of this current cultivating season.
For this act of kindness, YTFC is showing gratitude and gratitude to the District Agriculture Officer, concerned EO and to all the staff of the Agriculture Department Imphal East, the release added.
The release also drew the attention of concerned departments to provide the same to the left out farmers who are mostly tenant farmers.
YTFC, in the release, requested the Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister of the State to consider the grievances faced by the tenant farmers while getting advantages/benefits given by the government.
YTFC thereby wants to make an arrangement at the earliest of the these tenant farmers who are not yet provided the fertilisers by the department due to not having land records at their hands, the release appealed and further added that the land owners of the paddy fields should give a xerox copy of the land records to the tenant farmers so that they (the tenants) may be able to get fertilisers as per government norms.
