Moreh: In an astonishing find, unexploded bombs left over in the world from World War II were accidentally dug at Moreh on Thursday when an excavator was leveling a house construction.

At least 27 pieces of unexploded WWII bombs, 43 empty cases of bombs and 15 empty boxes were discovered while an excavator leveled a plot of land for house construction at Lhangnom Veng, Moreh Ward No.9, near Power station, Moreh.

The owner of the land/plot where the excavator unearthed the bombs is identified as Kampu Doungel (35), husband of Nemjalhing Dungel (son of Semjathong) of Lhangnom Veng, Moreh Ward No.9.

On discovering the unexploded bombs, the owner immediately informed the Moreh Police.

Immediately a team of Moreh Police led by SI Mangcha Baite rushed to the spot and sanitized the area and kept guarding the bombs for safety from the general public till the filling of this report.
