IMPHAL: The inaugural function of Workshop cum Holi Festival 2020 organised by Brahmapur Holi Dal, Brahmapur, Imphal under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Academi, New Delhi and Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur was held at Brahmapur Social Club premises, Brahmapur Sangai Chuthek, Imphal on Sunday.
Th. Satyabrata Singh, Hon’ble MLA Yaiskul Assembly Constituency, A. Chitreswar Sharma, Sahitya Akademi Awardee, Laimayum Inunganbi Devi, Hon’ble Corporator, Imphal Municipal corporation Ward No. 18 and A. Shivadash Sharma, Dy. Secy, AR, Labour and employment, Government of Manipur took part as Chief guest, President and Guest of honor respectively.
In his chief guest speech Satyabrata Singh, MLA Yaiskul Assembly Constituency said that nowadays, there are three categories of celebrating Holi festival like uplifting sports, entertainment and devotion to Lord Shree Shree Mahaprabhu. Brahmapur Holi Dal is such a celebration to emphasise regarding the preservation of our rich culture and tradition of Hinduism, he said.
I hope this very workshop will fulfill the dreams of Rajashree Bheigyachandra to preserve and promote the rich culture of Hindu dharma in the state of Manipur, Satyabrata said and further stated that such initiatives to promote rich culture and traditions of Manipuris by Brahmapur Holi Dal is appreciated and rendered his support to Brahmapur Holi Dal in near future.
The five days long workshop cum Holi festival will be concluded on 27th February at the premises Brahmapur Social Club, Brahmapur Sangai Chuthek, Imphal.
