49,882 samples tested in the state
IMPHAL: 42 more fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in the last 24 hours taking the state’s total count to 1227.
According to a statement issued by Additional Director Health Department and COVID-19 Common Control Room Spokesperson Dr Khoirom Shasheekumar Mangang in late evening, the 42 fresh individuals were tested positive for the contagion when their samples were tested at RIMS lab and JNIMS lab. 7 cases were found positive at RIMS and 35 at JNIMS.
The fresh cases included 2 from Kamjong district, 33 from Kangpokpi district, 2 from Senapati district and 5 from Ukhrul district. It was informed that all the positive patients recently returned from different states. They have been shifted to COVID care centres. Health authority is taking up all necessary preventive and control measures like containment and contact tracing, added the statement.
39 persons were discharged on Monday after they were found COVID-19 free after RT PCR test. 32 patients were discharged from Covid Care centre, Meitram, 7 from CCC Tamenglong. The recovered cases included 3 from CCpur, 2 from Kakching, one each from Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, Noney and Ukhrul, 12 from Pherzawl, 11 from Senapati and 7 from Tamneglong.
With this, State’s total active COVID-19 cases stands at 733. Till date, altogether 494 patients have recovered and have been discharged, recording a recovery rate of 40.26 percent.
All the 733 active COVID-19 cases are currently undergoing treatment at RIMS COVID care centre, RIMS, JNIMS, District Hospital Bishnupur, UNACCO school, Meitram, TK Woodland Resort, Tamenglong Higher Secondary School, CCC/IO Ward Churachandpur, CCC, Senapati and District QCs respectively.
Of the 496 samples tested at RIMS lab, 7 samples were found positive for the contagion. 302 samples were tested at JNIMS and 35 samples were detected positive. Altogether 49,882 samples have been tested in the state so far, said a report of IDSP Manipur.
