TMB Report

Ccpur: Veteran politician and state executive member of BJP Henlienthang Thanglet, an intending candidate for 60-Singngat AC by-election, on Thursday held a workers meet at his residence located at Hill Town where he announced that for the interest of their party, the BJP, and for the interests of UPF/KNO he will not contest the upcoming Assembly by election.

After I resigned from the Presidentship of Ccpur district NPP, I joined the BJP as they are the one who cater to the needs of the people and seeing their resolve to negotiate the long pending issue between the government with the SoO groups UPF/KNO, the BJP executive committee told his workers.

We are now in BJP. So is GS Haupu, ex-MLA and intending candidate from 60th Singngat AC for the by-election 2020 and we must support him, he told his workers explaining that it was not the end of their political journey as they look for a better opportunity in 2020 Assembly Elections.

In a press conference Henlienthang Thanglet said that he joined BJP as the party focused on the welfare of the hill people as shown by their initiative like ‘Go to Village ‘ and being a Zomis from Vaiphei community I feel oblige to support the BJP as they initiate talk with UPF/ KNO for Territorial Council which result will come sooner than later.

It was with loyalty to the BJP and the sacrifice by resignation of his Congress membership  made by GS Haupu to save the BJP government for the good of UPF/KNO that I will not contest this by-election and me and my workers  will support him in the by elections, he said .
