Vehicle lifter carrying Rs 1 lakh bounty held

Imphal: In one of the swift action taken up by Manipur Police, a team of Lilong Police Station along with members of Anjuman arrested a vehicle lifter along with one stolen vehicle from Lilong Atoukhong, Thoubal district on Monday.
The arrested vehicle lifter has been identified as Singamayum Farid
Khan (31), son of Singamayum Abdul Salam of Lilong Atoukhong.

According to a report, acting on reliable information that
a vehicle lifter had been loitering at his residence at Lilong Atoukhong with concealing a stolen vehicle, a team of Lilong Police Station along with women police personnel and members of Anjuman under the supervision of SP Thoubal Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh conducted raid and search of the house leading to the arrest of Singamayum Farid Khan.
Upon further search, one Honda Activa scooter white in colour without registration number and a sum of Rs. 70,000 said to be found inside the tool box of the vehicle while stealing it were recovered and seized by observing formalities, the report added.
The report said that on examination, the accused
confessed that he along with his associate namely Singamayum Imran Khan (26), son of Singamayum Riaj Khan of Lilong Atoukhong had stolen the vehicle from Ghari Mamang Leikai in front of LINGEL Office near Mahindra Showroom on April 30 at around 2:45 PM.
Singamayum Imran Khan is still absconding while a regular
case under FIR NO. 36(05)2021 LIL PS U/S 379/34 IPC has been
registered against the accused persons and investigation is on, it conveyed.
It may be mentioned here that on the day the Honda Activa scooter was
stolen, owner of the vehicle namely RK Rubi from Ningthoukhong has
announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh through social media, to those who
can provide the detailed information of the vehicle lifter.
