IMPHAL: The United Peoples’ Front (UPF), Manipur celebrated its 22nd foundation day at their Head Office at Laishom Leirak Machin, Keishamthong on Friday.
Addressing as chief guest of the function, founder president Kh. Ratan said that the UPF Manipur has been serving and giving its contribution at the front line in every issue of the society for the last twenty-two years.
He further said that due to Covid-19, a big confusion has been created to all the citizens of Manipur and there is a fear of how much will be the toll of death from pandemic and there is a fear of widespread propagation of mental illness during the period of pandemic.
Ratan also further said that the situation was in good position before less numbers of infected by Covid-19 but now more than 100 persons has been tested positive every day, on top of that the total numbers of patients from Covid-19 has reached more than 5, 000, this means that the precautionary measure of Covid-19 taken up by the state government has failed, added Ratan.
The state has been facing various suffering amidst this critical situation from pandemic but unfortunately, the people in the state and different localities have behave in the worst ways and meting harassment to the front line workers/warriors namely doctors, nurses, health worker, police including media persons who has been working day and night with dedication to defeat Covid-19, such cruel eyeing and harassment can lead to hindrances in the courses of the common goals.
On the other hand, amidst this situation, Central government are trying to settle down the final solution the ongoing peace talks between India government and NSCN-IM on next month in September which India government is trying to create a chaos amongst the communities in the state which has been living together since many years. The Central government should not perform and take a decision looking only in the interest of a single community, said Ratan.
Founder president Khomdram Ratan, president of UPF, Manipur W. Second attended as chief guest and president on the day. Advisor of UPF, Manipur L. Jadumani, Executives District Committee Th. Mangi, YK. Dhiren Meetei, BM. Yaima Shah and local council members also attended the day.
All the advisors of UPF, Manipur were also presented with a simple gift of lengyan phee during the foundation day.
