Imphal: The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has stated that the clash that happened between two villages, Aimol Chingnunghut and Aimol Khunyai, under the jurisdiction of Machi police station in Tengnoupal district on Saturday afternoon was a very unfortunate incident and appealed to all people to come together for avoiding such cruel incident in the future.
A press release of UCM signed by its Secretary IPR BM Yaima appealed to both parties to stop another similar clash from happening. It also further appealed to the police department to be on the alert and operate at their best level so that any unwanted incident does not happen.
As we all know that such kind of similar incidents’ were happening frequently in the state particularly over land issues, leading to fighting between the adjacent villages, communities etc which promotes mistrust between the people, and it is like a longstanding disease meaning that the same incident can happen in the coming days, UCM stated.
Most of the incident over dispute of land that is happening now is because there is no proper patta and the parties involved genuinely do not know about the actual demarcation of land as there is a concrete government policy yet to be created. So, in order to avoid such misfortune, government needs to carry out land survey under one policy, prophesying that only after proper demarcation such cruel incidents can be avoided from happening between different communities, villages, group etc and clashes will decrease on its own in the state, said the statement.
On the other hand, earlier in the past there was love and understanding between one village and another village and concern for one another but today clashes are happening between the same villages and communities. There is new-founded hatred for one another, and it could be due to the pressures from outside, it added.
