Two siblings injured in a gambling-related knife attack

Thoubal: In a very rare incident, two brothers sustained knife injuries following an attack during a card gambling at Lilong Leihaokhong Leikai under Lilong Police Station.

The incident occurred on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at around 1:00 AM where the gamblers began arguin about win and lose of money in the card gambling in which one of the gamblers stabbed the sibling brothers and fled away.

Among the two sibling brothers, one of the brothers is in critical condition.

According to Police sources, the culprit who has absconded after stabbing the two brothers is identified as Md. Feroz khan (43), son of Abdul Manal @ Naha Macha of Lilong Leihaokhong Makha Leikai.

The injured brothers are identified as Md. Habimal Rahman (35) and his elder brother Md. Taj Khan, son of (L) Turab Ali of Lilong Leihaokhong Leikai.

Habimal who is critically injured is undergoing treatment at JNIMS Hospital and is in serious condition while Md. Taj Khan is undergoing treatment at Rural Hospital Lilong and is out of danger.

Md. Taj Khan is also a personnel of 33 Assam Rifles.

 Lilong Police Station has taken up a case in connection with the incident and are on the hunt to arrest the culprit Feroj Khan, the source added.
