Two day awareness prog on disaster management kicked off

IMPHAL: The Department of Relief and Disaster Management, Manipur (DRDMM) has kicked off a two day awareness training programme on disaster management cum disaster risk governance coinciding with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction at First Manipur Rifle Battalion Ground, here on Tuesday.

During the programme the Chief Guest, Additional Chief Secretary of DRDMM M.H. Khan highlighted the needs of people for awareness on any kind of disaster or emergency in order to stay safe and protect during the disaster. He mentioned that Covid-19 pandemic is also one of the disasters and appealed to all to strictly follow the state SOPs as a matter of precaution and safety.

M.H. Khan further said that he will give his best efforts to impart disaster training to State police and Manipur Rifles personnel to prevent and be aware of any kind of disasters.  He told the gathering to stay alert for any disasters, as it may occur anytime and anywhere.

During the observance personnel of Imphal east and Imphal west police took oath to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
