IMPHAL: Chief Minister N Biren said that state government has decided to separate the case related to money laundering by Salai Holding Private Ltd and the anti-national offence committed by its chairman Narengbam Samarjit.
Biren made the statement while giving reply to the query raised by the opposition MLA Kh Joykishan during the discussion of Appropriation bill no.2, 2020 in the house.
Chief Minister said that such incident is very unfortunate and government also feels the suffering the people who invested money to the company are suffering. Announcement of Manipur sovereignty from Indian Union and formation of a dejure government in London by Salai Company chairman N Samarjit attracted NIA and other investigating agencies. As Samarjit is involved in the affairs of the Company, NIA began investigating in the case and properties related to Samarjit. After holding a formal meeting, the case of Salai company and Samarjit will be separated. State Home department will handle the case relating to money laundering case of the Company while NIA handle case relating to the anti-national offence committed by N Samarjit, chairman of the company.
Chief Minister appealed to the people to take care while depositing their money to any Company and check credentials and legality of such company.
