Imphal: A team of CDO Kakching unit has arrested two active cadres of proscribed militant outfit KYKL from Kakching Lamkhai near Oil pump on Monday around 4:15 pm.

The arrested cadres has been identified as Self/Style Captain Mayanglambam Ranjit Singh @ Premchand (40 years), son of M. Chaoba Singh of Umathel Makha Leikai and Self/Style Major Thingnam Dilip Singh @ Chingkhuba (48), son of (L) Th. Herachandra Singh of Kakching Khunou Ningthou Leikai.

According to Police sources, the team of CDO Kakching unit of HC M. Suraj Kumar under the command of OC/CDO Unit, Kakching Inspector Md. Abash Khan and under the supervision of ASP (Ops)/Kakching Ksh. Manihar Singh conducted a mobile frisking and checking at Kakching Lamkhai area. During the frisking and checking, the team arrested the two active cadres of the Proscribed outfit KYKL by observing Covid-19 SOP.

On verification, Mayanglambam Ranjit disclosed that he joined the outfit in 1998 through one Self/Style Sergeant Major Khelemba of the said outfit and was trained for 45 days basic military training under Army No. 019 at Khoupum.

Ranjit also disclosed that he worked under the command of Self/Style Lieutenant Colonel Eingba in transporting cadres of the outfit from Tamu to Mandalay as and when directed.

The another arrested active cadre Thingnam Dilip Singh disclosed that he joined the outfit in the year 1994 through one Rishi @ Yambung of Sawombung, Imphal East and was trained for 45 days basic military training at NSCN-(IM) camp located at Chandel, in 1994 along with NSCN cadres.

Dilip also disclosed that he worked as Commander of 2nd Battalion located at Eastern Nagaland till 2017. He then worked under the command of Self/Style Major Khelemba of Kakching as assistant in the outfit affairs from 2017 till date.

The arrested cadres have been handed over to Kakching Police Station for further necessary legal action.

A regular case has also been registered under FIR No. 73(10)2020KCG-PS U/C 20UA (P) Act for further investigation, the source added.
