Training On Youth Leadership And Community Development Concludes

Thoubal: A three day residential training on Youth Leadership and Community Development organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Thoubal and NSS Unit, Kakching Khunou College under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India being held at Kakching Khunou College has concluded on Saturday.

40 youths selected from various youth clubs participated in the training programme.

In the valedictory function, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Thoubal Michael T. Mate presented a detailed report of activities conducted during the camp.

Career Guidance-options and Personalities, Youth and Legal Resources, Programmes and Activities of NYKS, Communication and Life Skills, Youth and Society, Developing Leadership Quality, Personality, Moral Responsibility and Involvement of Youths in Community Development Programmes were the main objectives of the camp.

Resource persons were invited to interact with the youths on flagship programmes of the Government, Panchayati Raj, Life Skill Education, Prevention of Drug Abuse and Alcoholism, NYK’s role in development of youth clubs, group discussion on preparation of Youth Club Action Plan, report writing etc.

On the other hand, Yoga, cultural programme, singing, cleanliness drive were some of the activities which was held during the camp.

Attending as Chief Guest of the valedictory function, Principal of Kakching Khunou college N. Mohendro advised the youth to join hands in implementing the various schemes launched by the Government at different villages and told the youths to utilise the best potentials of the their age in a positive manner.

“Social media should be used properly and the youths should not indulge in unwanted behaviour and misuse of dependence producing drugs”, Mohendro said.

Mohendro also said that the youths should be the asset of the society and they should contribute for the welfare and development of the society through the Flagship Schemes of the Government.

The Chief Guest also distributed certificates to the campers and sports materials to six youth clubs of Umathel and Kakching Khunou area.

It may be mentioned here that with a view to develop personality, enhance capability to take leadership and help in community development, the three days training programme was kicked off on Thursday.
