16 of the elected RS MPs have criminal cases

IMPHAL: The titular king of Manipur Leisemba Sanajaoba earned the distinction of being the poorest among the newly elected 62 members of Rajya Sabha with an asset of a meager Rs 5, 84,594 compared to his Congress counterpart Alha Ayodhya Rami Rede, who was the richest with Rs 25,77,75,79,180 in possession, said the Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) report.
The ADR report further revealed that 16 members have pending judgment in court for matter filed against them in connection with criminal cases while 11 were involved in heinous criminal cases like attempt to murder, rape and dacoity etc.
Another Congressman Nathawari Parimal was the second richest member in the list owning Rs 3,96,83,96,198 assets whereas BJP’s Jyotiraditya Sandhya was in the third position with Rs 3,79,03,29,144 in possession.
