IMPHAL: Men-Tsee-Khang clinic which specializes in Tibetan Traditional Medicine has opened its branch offering Free Consultation for one month at the premises of the Manipur International University (MIU) Administrative Headquarter.
In a press conference held at Manipur International University located at Ghari Awang Leikai on Thursday, Men-Tsee-Khang CMO Dr. Choenyi Samdup stated that Tibetan traditional medicine is one of the oldest medicinal practices of ancient Tibet passed down from ancestors more than 300 years ago. This form of medical practice effectively treats many ailments including chronic ailments such as all cases of Cancer, Liver and Kidney disorders, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Piles, Arthritis, Insomnia, Neurological, Psychosomatic, Gynecological and all kinds of skin problems. All the medicines are prepared using ancient techniques with pure herbal components which removes the risk of side effect.
He further told that in October 2017 during the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Imphal on the invitation of the State Government the latter laid the foundation for the future of MIU and Tibetan Government in exile. Manipur International University (MIU) and Men-Tsee-Khang signed an agreement for the establishment of International Medical College and hospital of Tibetan medicine in Manipur at Dharmasala this year. And therefore the institution opened its branch clinic at the premises of MIU which was inaugurated by Manipur Legislative Speaker Y. Khemchand along with JNIMS Director Dr. T. Bhimo, added Dr. Choenyi Samdup.
It is the exclusive institute re- established by His Holiness Dalai Lama for the promotion, protection, and propagation of Sowa Rigpa. Men-Tsee-Khang has a total of 57 branch clinics in several cities across the country and is spread across countries. The uniqueness of Men-Tsee-Khang is that their clinics are open only through invitation and demand of the people. And the 57th branch clinic at Imphal is supported and sponsored by the Manipur International University.
Men-Tsee-Khang is a charitable, cultural and educational institution registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. It is the oldest, largest, and most reputable Sowa-Rigpa institute in India for learning, treatment, and pharmacology. It was first established by the Great Xll Dalai Lama in 1916 in Tibet and in 1961 the institute was re-established by His Holiness the Great XIV Dalai Lama in Dharmasala, India.
