Thoubal District Police Organised Miyamgi Numit, DIC Liquors and Loud Silencer Vehicles Seized

Thoubal: Thoubal District Police under the supervision of SP/Thoubal District Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh has organised “Miyam gi Numit” at Six Police Stations of the District and heard the grievances of the people on Saturday.

The six police stations of Thoubal District where the “Meeyam gi Numit” was organised are Thoubal Police Station, Lilong Police Station, Yairipok Police Station, Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Khongjom Police Station and Heirok Police Station.

OC N. Jadumani of Thoubal Police Station, OC Oinam Ajit of Lilong Police Station, OC Md. Riyajuddin of Yairipok Police Station, OC N. Premjit of Heirok Police Station, OC K. Premkumar Mangang of Nongpok Sekmai Police Station and OC M. Yumjaoba of Khongjom Police Station personally heard the grievances of the people their jurisdiction during the “Meeyam gi Numit”.

On the other hand, swiftly acting to the people grievances heard during the “Meeyam gi Numit” one person riding a bike with loud modified silencer pipe was arrested by Thoubal Polcie team from Wangjing Keithel in the afternoon of the same day.

The arrested person was identified as Nongmaithem Sundar (22 years), son of Nongmaithem Tikendra of Lamding Khumanthem Leikai, Thoubal District.

People complained that they had faced various inconveniences due to the loud sound from the arrested person without registration number Royal Enfield Bullet with modified silencer pipe which he drives in the area.

In a separate development, acting on the people grievances, a joint team of Thoubal Police Station and Nongpok Sekmai Police Station has busted a DIC liquor factory at Ukhongsang Mayai Leikai and seized large quantity of DIC liquors and equipments and materials used in producing the liquors.

A person was also arrested from a DIC liquor factory with liquors.

The arrested person has been identified as Hijam Jayenta (40 years), son of Hijam Ibotombi of Ukhongsang Mayai Leikai, Thoubal District.

Altogether 800 litres of DIC liquors, 100 kgs of fermented rice, 1kg hamei, utensil used in production of the liquors and 2 kg Ganja were seized from four different liquor factories which were busted by the police team.

The seized liquor items has been handed over to Thoubal Excise while the Ganja will be handed over to NDPS and will take up further legal actions, police source said.
