THOUBAL: Considering the inconveniences being faced by the public while going for treatment and medical related cases at Thoubal District Hospital which has stop functioning after 3 doctors and a grade IV staff were tested positive for COVID-19 last week, process to re-function the District Hospital as usual/normal after discussing with District Administration Thoubal is underway, said Medical Superintendent of the Hospital Dr. Ch Memcha.
Medical Superintendent of the Hospital Dr. Ch Memcha made the statement during a press conference held at the Conference hall of the office of DC Thoubal on Sunday.
Dr. Ch Memcha further said that Thoubal District Hospital has been kept seal after 3 doctors and a grade IV were tested Covid-19 positive last Sunday so that the Covid virus does not further spread in the hospital.
In the meantime, considering the inconveniences being faced by the public while going for treatment and medical related cases at Thoubal District Hospital, the process to re-function emergency services, OPD and Homeopathy departments at the earliest is underway, she said.
Taking part at the press conference, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal Dr. N. Jayentakumar said that in the last few days, Covid-19 positive cases has been rising in Thoubal district and efforts on contact tracing are also going on as well as test for the primary and secondary contacts are also going on.
He appealed that while the contact tracing and test are going on, people of those areas that have been announced as a containment zone should remain in their home and obey SOP.
Dr. N. Jayentakumar also said that a mobile team of DC, ADM of District Administration Thoubal and District Surveillance officer of Surveillance team along with Sampling Teams and Medical Teams are conducting tests at Covid-19 positive tested areas including District Hospital Thoubal.
With the rising numbers of Covid-19 positive patients, they had faced big problems of area capacity where these positive patients are to be kept and undergo treatment, but now the problems have been solved.
Thus, the process of conducting Covid-19 test will be fastening soon, Dr. N Jayentakumar said.
