Imphal: “Thang-Ta Day” was observed on the theme of “Thang-Ta for Healthy Nation” at the premises of Excellent Tutorial Centre, Tellou under the auspices of Thang-Ta Observation Committee and KIMACS on Tuesday.
The function was attended by instructors and students of the Excellent Tutorial Centre; Irom Ibomcha, Chairman, Thang-Ta Observation Committee; and N. Ajitkumar Mangang, president, KIMACS. Awareness on Thang-Ta was reached out to the students.
Ajitkumar Mangang stressed that the responsibility of the youths is very important in molding a healthy society. Unfortunately, our youths are destroying themselves by indulging in drugs and alcohol which make them worthless. They should stride ahead together and prepare a shining future and answer to the call of time to create a good society. Manipur was a sovereign country for a long time because of our brave forefathers who were well versed in the art of Thang-Ta. So, we should follow in the footsteps of our brave forefather and should not forget their sacrifices they made for upholding our culture. So, the youths should show to the world that we are the children of our brave forefathers by committing ourselves to the discipline of the indigenous Thang-Ta art form, Ajitkumar Mangang said.
