IMPHAL: The legislator of Khundrakpam Assembly constituency Th. Lokeshwar has extended his help in the construction of a new house for Ushum Thoithoi of Khundrakpam Awang Leikai.
Thoithoi is bedridden from a serious injury on his left leg after an unfortunate accident and was living hand to mouth in an old dilapidated house with his four siblings alone after losing their parents in 2015.
As per the report, the 29 year old Usham Thoithoi was a mason and worked in the construction of the house of MLA Th. Lokeshwar but he was injured in the devastating accident on October 6.
The MLA further assured the completion of his house as soon as possible. Thoithoi has extended heartfelt gratitude to the MLA, unable to control his tears for the legislators’ help in construction of the old house left to them by his parents.
On other hand, the Waiton Gram Panchayat Pradhan P. Surbala stressed that Manipur can become a developed state only after empowering village Panchayat while delivering a presidium speech during the Ward Sabha meeting of Waiton Gram Panchayat held at Pourabi which is under Khundralpam assembly constituency
She mentioned that the country has continued to remain a developing state for a long time since the government lacks in empowering the panchayat system. At the same time she coaxed members of every panchayat to perform their activities with sincerity and honesty, she added.
The meeting was attended by social worker S. Shyamkeshor, Nongmaithem Madhumani , Sapam Gambhirsingh , retired Subedar Major Indian army Wahengbam Sanahanba, Sagolsem Menjor and P. Surbala as presidium members.
