Guv, CM, Edn Minister extend greetings on Teachers’ Day

IMPHAL: Governor of Manipur, Dr. Najma Heptulla, CM Biren and Education Minister Th. Radheshyam have extended their warm greetings to the teaching community on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, which falls on September 5, 2020.

Extending her greetings and wishes to the teaching fraternity, the Governor said that the birthday of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan is observed as Teachers’ Day to honour them for their precious contributions towards the society and the country.

“Teachers play an important role in character building of the students and make them worthy citizens. A strong education system is the foundation of a progressive society and Manipur has a lot of expectations from its teaching community,” the Governor stated.

Stating that teaching that is a noble profession as they are the real source of knowledge and wisdom which they impart to their students, the Governor said that the sacrifice made by teachers is silent but tremendous.

The governor also called up teachers to instill in children values of sacrifice, tolerance, pluralism, understanding and compassion and that by doing so, they will be paying true homage to Dr. Radhakrishnan.

Extending his greetings, CM Biren said that Teacher’s Day is celebrated on the birthday of Late Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. Teachers unravel talents and demystify complexities. They teach us life skills and help us to choose between right and wrong.

They mentor young minds and guide them to become responsible citizens. Teachers build nations silently, the CM said and called on the people to remember teachers with love, gratitude and indebtedness on this day.

Education Minister Dr Radheshyam Singh also extended his warned greetings on the occasion of Teachers Day and stated that the nations are built in classrooms. My profound gratitude to the teachers who keep the classrooms and the pupils in the perfect harmony to groom every person whose strengths are characterized by the love and care they give every moment, the Minister said.

We owed our lives to our teachers without whose commitment and dedication our lives would have been different stories. It is during the most difficult times our teachers’ firm belief shows us the right path. There is nothing that can replace or substitute the defined roles our teachers play, the Education Minister asserted.
