IMPHAL: The state saw a single day spike of 270 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, out of which 205 are locally transmitted, to take the tally of COVID-19 positive cases in the state to 9280.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 has claimed as many as 60 persons in the state so far with one more patient, an 82-year old man from Imphal West district, succumbing to COVID-19 and other co-morbid heath conditions at JNIMS.
According to a daily bulletin updated by Dr Shasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director Health Department and Spokesperson Covid Common Control Room, the 270 fresh positive cases including 214 civilians and 56 personnel belonging to CAPF were detected at VRDL JNIMS -58, VRDL RIMS-17, Swiss Clinic-1, Raj Medicity-1, Shija Hospital-10, Kamjong-1, Imphal East RAT-6, Mother’s Care-1, RD Wing-1, Senapati-1, Tamenglong-3, Thoubal-24, Chandel-1, Churachandpur-4, Bishnupur-6, Kakching-6, IRL-1, Jivan Hospital-4, Imphal west RAT-21, Babina Diagnostic-15, RIMS RAT-7, JNIMS-73.
Of the 214 civilians tested positive, district wise Imphal East alone reported 100 fresh positive cases, followed by Imphal West-54, Thoubal-29, Tengnoupal-3, Bishnupur-6, Kakching-7, Chandel-3, Kangpokpi-1, Churachandpur-5, Kamjong-1, Senapati-1 and Tamenglong-4.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 49 persons were discharged, thus pegging the recovery rate at 74.21 percent on Tuesday.
They were discharged from CAPF -1, RIMS-6, RD Wing-15, Kangpokpi-1, CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong -1, CCC Lamding-24, CCC Bishnupur-1 after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
Altogether, 6887patients have recovered and the active Covid-19 cases stands at 2333, of which 1987 are civilians and 346 security personnel.
