Imphal: As a part of security measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, state police continued to crackdown on curfew and lockdown violators and those who were not wearing face mask in public. ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press note stated that around 744 curfew and lockdown violators along with 537 vehicles were detained during a drive conducted on Monday.
The detained violators were produced before the concern magistrates and were imposed a total fine of Rs. 76,250.
ADGP (LO) in the press release has warned those who do not wear face mask in public and those who violate the curfew and lockdown will be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The violations were reported from Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel, Churachandpur, Jiribam,Kangpokpi, Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong District Police.
