State Police Detain 501 Curfew and Lockdown Violators Along with 300 Vehicles

Imphal: State Police continued to crack down on curfew and lock down violators and those venturing in public places without wearing face masks as part of the security measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.

ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press release stated that Manipur Police Department has detained 501 curfew and lockdown violators along with 300 vehicles during drives conducted on Sunday.

They detained violators were produced before the concern Magistrates and fine of Rs. 37,200 were imposed on them.

ADGP (LO) in the press release has warned those who do not wear face mask in public and those who violate the curfew and lockdown will be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The detained violators, vehicles and fines were collected from Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Senapati and Ukhrul District Police Station during the drive carried out on Sunday.
