State Police Continue to Crack Down on Curfew and Lockdown Violators

As a part of security measures taken up by State Police in order to enforce the total lockdown and curfew and also to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State, State Police continued to crack down on curfew and lockdown violators.

ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press release stated that Manipur Police Department detained 605 curfew and lockdown violators and 440 vehicles during drives conducted on Thursday.

They were produced before the concerned magistrates and fines to the tune of Rs. 70,250 were imposed.

ADGP (LO) in the press release appealed to the public to follow the guidelines issued by the Government and stay indoors for their own safety and safety for the public.

For those who are going to purchase medicines/grocery items on days markets are open, they ought to maintain social distancing, ADGP (LO) said.

ADGP (LO) also stated that Manipur Police Department will continue to strictly enforce the curfew and lockdown in the days to come.

The detained violators, vehicles and fines were collected from Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel, Churachandpur, Noney, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong District police stations during the drives carried out on Thursday, respectively.
