Imphal: The State on Tuesday recorded highest number of Covid-19 positive cases with 433 confirming new positive cases from the general population including one personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) in the past 24 hours.
A press release issued by Covid-19 Common Control Room informed that in the past twenty-four hours, 432 persons (250M, 182F) from general population and one personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-I9 positive cases.
It informed that the positive persons were tested at JNIMS (49), RIMS (10), Imphal East (7), Imphal West (24), Maipakpi (12), Raj Medicity (39), RD Wing (7), CMC (4), Ema Hospital (3), Imphal Hospital (2), Shija Hospital (35), Jivan Hospital (12), Advance Hospital (2), Asian Hospital (2), Babina Diagnostics (106), Escent Diagnostics (34), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (17), Kakching (16), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (26), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (7), Jiribam (2) and Kamjong (1).
The release conveyed that the positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (108), Imphal West (183), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (26), Kakching (35), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (42), Tengnoupal (1), Tamenglong (6), Senapati (3), Kangpokpi (1), Jiribam (3) and Kamjong (2). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
It further informed that in the last 24 hours, two persons 58 years old male from Thoubal and 45 years old male from Bishnupur districts expired at JNIMS (2) hospital. The cumulative number of deaths is 424. The total number of discharged persons is 111. They are from CAPF (4), Home Isolation (87), RIMS (4), JNIMS (9), RAJMED (1) and SHRI (6).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 32,956 (General Population-29,370 and Central Security Personnel-3,586). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 30,141 (General Population 26,675 and Central Security Personnel – 3,466). The number of active cases is 2, 391 (General Population-2276 and Central Security Personnel-115). The recovery rate is 91.45 percent.
It also informed that in the last 24 hours, a total of 659 D type oxygen cylinders and 176 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
It asked air passengers who travelled to the State on May 2 by Indigo flight 6181 in rows 11-17 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing. As per latest information, the total number of persons vaccinated is 2, 21, 983.
