State govt ensures allocated PDS rice reaches to the public

IMPHAL: State Government continue lifting and distributing PDS rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) for the month of April, 2020 to beneficiaries of various Assembly Constituencies of the State despite lockdown in the State to contain outbreak of COVID-19.

For Tuibong Sub-Division of Saikot Assembly Constituency in Churachandpur district, 850.85 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 675 quintal of rice under OMSS were lifted today.

In Imphal West district, as on 25.04.2020 a total of  2872.08 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was distributed to 14768 household/families while, 25 quintal of OMSS were sold to 70 household/families. On the other, 19,363 stranded persons were provided with ration such as Rice, Dal, Salt and Cooking oil by District Administration, Imphal West.

For Saikot Assembly Constituency in Churachandpur district, 1625.50 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 350 quintal of rice under OMSS for Churachandpur district were lifted yesterday. And 100 quintal were also distributed to 1043 household/families.  OMSS rice under (MLA-LAD) for different ACs in Churachandpur were also lifted yesterday which includes 61.6 quintal for Henglep AC, 560 quintal for Saikot AC and 36.4 quintal of rice for Mualnuam in Thanlon AC.

Yesterday, 1046 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 193.05 quintal of OMSS rice were lifted from FCI godown, M. Ningthoupham for Saikul Assembly Constituency in Kangpokpi district.

The State Government is working tirelessly and has ensured that enough foodgrains are made available in every district of the State during the lockdown.
