|IMPHAL: Altogether 98 persons, 63 of them without significant travel history, tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours taking the total count of confirmed Covid-19 positive cases to 3018 on Tuesday. |
According to a statement issued by Covid Control Common Room, 64 individuals belonging to general population and 34 personnel of Central Armed Police Force tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Of them, 41 samples were detected positive for the deadly virus at VRDL of RIMS, followed by 46 samples at JNIMS lab, 10 at Imphal West Rapid Antigen test and one at SDH Jiribam.
A total of 25 positive cases were reported from Imphal West district, 23 cases from Thoubal, five from Chandel, eight from Imphal east and one from Tamenglong.
Of the 64 positive cases belonging to the general population, 63 cases do not have travel history except one case from Tamenglong. The infected patients will be shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place. There is no report of death due to Covid-19 from any part of the state for the day, added the bulletin of CCCR.
The Control Room further stated that altogether 48 individuals were discharged from Covid care centre, JNIMS (4), CCC Meitram, Imphal west (8), CCC Senapati (4), RD Wing (12), and Jiribam AR (17), after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
With 1814 Covid-19 patients out of 3018 having recovered, the State’s total count of active COVID-19 cases stands at 1197, thus recovery rate pegging at 60.10 percent by Tuesday.
According to a status update by IDSP Manipur, a total of 1498 samples were tested at RIMS lab (877), JNIMS (503), STDC/IRL Imphal Trunat (17), DH Senapati (4), DH Tamenglong (13) and Antigen Test (84) and 98 of them turned out to be positive for the virus.
Altogether 1227 COVID patients are currently under treatment at different COVID care centres opened in different districts of the state.
Meanwhile, District Administration, Thoubal has declared a containment zone at Westernmost side Barrack of Lilong Police station after one personnel of the Police station has been tested positive for the virus.
Apart from sealing the area, entry and exit of people from the area has been restricted from today.
The District Administration also in separate orders declared containment zone at Thoubal Ningombam, Santhel Awang Leikai, Ningombam Mamang Leikai after some locals sans travel history were tested positive. One individual from Ningombam Mamang leikai, three residents each from Thoubal Ningombam and Santhel Mamang Leikai were found positive.
