IMPHAL/BPR: As a means to help contain COVID-19 which seems to be already spreading at the community level and with seven lives taken so far, Sodium Hypochlorite solution was spread in parts of the state especially in Imphal and Bishnupur districts on Sunday.
In Imphal, the Oriental Club, Khongman Mangjing sprayed disinfectant Sodium Hypochlorite solution in the streets within the jurisdiction of the club with an aim to prevent from the spread of novel virus in the surrounding area.
The police patrol vehicles were also sanitised by the club volunteers by spraying the disinfectant.
In its efforts, Zilla Parishad Member Seram Neken, Lion Dr. Ch. Manglem, Lion Chanam Dinesh and Lion Okram Premananda donated the required materials to the club for which the club expressed its gratitude.
In Bishnupur district, Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station under the supervision of SP/Bishnupur Priyadarsini Laishram and Young Kwakta Organisation(YKO), MMWO Bishnupur, 7 Salai Terakhongshangbi, Moirang Fire Service Station jointly sprayed sodium hypochlorite solution at Kwakta Municipal Area and Terakhongshangbi area.
From early morning OC/Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station Kh. Rajen Khanganba, President YKO Anish Ahamad and leaders and volunteers of different organisation sprayed the disinfectant solution at the villages where Meitei and Meitei Pangal are settling from Khudek to Torbung area by using water tankers of Moirang fire service.
OC kh. Rajen khanganbana said that the disinfectant solution was sprayed with an aim to fully initiate the precautionary measures taken up by the State Government to contain from Covid-19.
On the other hand, Upokpi da Rural Area Development Centre (RADC) Upokpi and District Malaria Officer Bishnupur has jointly sprayed Larvicide (Tamiphos) solutions at Upokpi village and its surrounding areas under Bishnupur A/C on Saturday.
