Bishnupur: Social worker from Moirang Thongam Shanti and Moirang Kendra Progressive Front (MKPF) distributed essential commodities and monetary help to Khomdram Ibemcha (31), daughter of Khomdram Ibopishak and Sangai of Tronglaobi Awang Mayai Leikai under Moirang A/C on Friday.
Khomdram Ibemcha is a differently-abled person who was born with 75 % of physical disability.
Thongam Shanti, MKPF General Secretary M. Utamkumar and key members of MKPF personally visited the resident of Khomdram Ibemcha and handed over 2 bags of rice, pulses and cooking oil to her father Khomdram Ibopishak and mother Sangai and few sum of money which will help her brother Abungo in his schooling and education.
Speaking on the occasion, Thongam Shanti said that he himself and members of MKPF came to extend help from their side after hearing the story and the family condition of Khomdram Ibemcha.
He said, her father who is under paralysis for the last 10 years is not able to contribute any help to the family as he is not more able to work to earn and her mother is also unable to work due to some health issues, while the only earner is her brother Abungo who work to run his family beside his schooling.
After going through this entire story, they took the decision to extend their possible help to the family of Khomdram Ibemcha, Shanti added.
Thongam Shanti also said that despite having a Disable certificate from the Social welfare Department,Khomdram Ibemcha Chanu has not received a single penny from the department end, which is the most disappointing and shocking thing to them.
Shanti urged the concerned authority to look into the matter and provide the required help to the destitute family of Khomdram Ibemcha Chanu at the earliest.
