Sincerity always pays: Honest Auto driver, OC Kangpokpi felicitated

KANGPOKPI: Deeply impressed with the honest act and sincerity of an Auto driver and OC Kangpokpi during the pandemic COVID-19 lockdown at Kangpokpi, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen on Thursday felicitated the duo fittingly during the law and order review meeting held at SP Kangpokpi office.

Ch. James Singh (23), s/o (L) Ch. Cheitei Singh and Ch. Tilo Devi of Kangpokpi Ward No.2 on April 24 had returned back 5 bags of PMGKAY and OMSS rice displaying his honesty while Inspector Khogen, Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station had shown exemplary duties on many occasion exhibiting his inspiring sincerity as a decorated police officer.

The local senior Journalist Kaybie Chongloi had brought their inspiring and exemplary service to the notice of the world and drawn the attention of the Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister and the District Administration to acknowledged their honesty and sincerity to motivate them and inspire many more other to adopt the attitude of the duo which is something very rare nowadays.

Minister Nemcha Kipgen acknowledged and felicitated Ch. James Singh and Inspector Khogen with a traditional muffler along with a cash reward of Rs. 20,000/- each in the presence of SP Kangpokpi, Hemant Pandey, IPS, Addl. SP (Ops) Kangpokpi, Lalminlen Misao, MPS and other police officers of the district apart from the leaders of Kangpokpi Youth Union who also attended the meeting.

The Minister also handover Certificate of Appreciation given by SP Kangpokpi to the duo for their exemplary service during the pandemic COVID-19 nationwide lockdown in the town.

Kangpokpi Youth Union commendable service during the lockdown was also highly acknowledged by the SP Kangpokpi and Certificate of Appreciation was hand over by the Minister to all the KYU leaders for assisting the Kangpokpi Police in enforcing nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 from March 25 till date during the meeting.

“I am really proud and honour to have such exemplarily honest and sincere individual and police officer in my district who could display a heart winning and inspiring service for the welfare of the people during such period of crisis,” the Minister said.

She also said that she was truly happy to those who are working in the frontline and displayed their service above everything else during this pandemic COVID-19 nationwide lockdown.

“Let us stand together and propagate the message of love and oneness because this is truly the need of the hour”, exhorted the Minister.

The Minister further appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of the District police in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 in the District and highly applauded the good administration of SP Kangpokpi, Hemant Pandey in maintaining law and orders in the District.

As per requested of the District SP, Minister Nemcha Kipgen also assured to help the District police in restoring the Police Outpost at Kalapahar.

Responding to the appeal of the Kalapahar Gorkha Youth Association with regards to price hike on essential commodities at Kalapahar, the Minister instructed the District Police to obtain price rate of all the essential commodities and paste in all the doors of the shops at Kalapahar while monitoring and maintaining skyrocketing of the price.

With regards to query raise by KYU leaders on relaxation after lockdown, Minister Nemcha first took an opinion poll of the CSOs leaders whether to continue with the lockdown or prefer relaxation which most of the leaders opted for continuing with the lockdown if there is no certainty of complete preventive measures.

Earlier, the Minister also donated more masks developed by Renu Handloom and Handicraft Co-operative Society Limited to KYU for ‘Mask Kangpokpi’ campaign while ADC Sadar Hills Councillor Milan Pradhan donate masks to the District Police and handover to the SP Kangpokpi.

Minister Nemcha Kipgen also donated 15 piece of Dustbin developed by Debchan Plastic Industry, Manipur to the District Police which she handover to OC Kangpokpi in the presence of SP Kangpokpi and Addl.SP (Ops) Kangpokpi to promote hygienic life style and cleanliness in the town.

She said that the idea of promoting hygienic living and cleanliness by installing dustbin at various strategic places in the town was given by OC Kangpokpi who visited me in my quarters and asked for the dustbin.
