KANGPOKPI: Considering the disquieting situation in some Institutional Quarantine Centres the Sub Divisional Officer of Kangpokpi today visited all the Institutional Quarantine Centres under his jurisdiction and briefed the inmates of the strict SOPs of IQCs.
SDO Kangpokpi Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS was accompanied by Addl. SP (Ops), Lalminlen Misao, MPS, Officer-in-charge of Kangpokpi Police Station, Inspector Khogen and the local senior Journalist Kaybie Chongloi while visiting the IQCs.
There are eighteen Institutional Quarantine Centres alone under Kangpokpi Sub Division with more than 700 inmates currently. Kangpokpi Sub Division has six active cases among the 47 so far active cases in the district from Goma Devi High School, Toribari Institutional Quarantine Centres.
The visiting SDO team visited Institutional Quarantine Centres at Hengbung, T.Khullen, within Kangpokpi District Headquarters, Daili village, Yaikongpao and Tumnoupokpi.
While strictly maintaining social distancing protocol, Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS, SDO Kangpokpi wearing masks briefed the inmates about the strict SOPs to followed by them during their surveillance period in their respective IQCs apart from creating awareness of various issues and challenges faced by the Government, District Administration, Police, Health workers and other frontline workers.
He also briefed them how the communities take huge responsibility for their well being by sacrificing their valuable time in taking care of their food, praying for their health and safety as well as security in their respective quarantine centres.
He said that we are worried for your health and safety while working beyond our duties so as to make you stay calm and happy in your respective quarantine centres but then as a human being sometime minor shortcoming could happen and we hope you will understand and try to adjust yourself on such occasion.
However, the SDO said that considering home like treatment at the Institutional Quarantine Centres would be totally wrong and motivate them to be discipline and promote hygienic ways of living in the quarantine centre.
Addl.SP (Ops), Kangpokpi, Lalminlen Misao, MPS and OC Kangpokpi, Inspector Khogen also briefed the inmates about the law and order situation due to the pandemic COVID-19 and action to be taken up to those breaching the IQCs guidelines of SOPs.
Restriction of taking photographs and videos and uploading in social media, dancing and mingling inside the quarantine centres were also briefed by the visiting team.
The visiting were very delighted to witnessed inmates of Tumnoupokpi Institutional Quarantine Centre maintaining not only the strict SOPs and social distancing protocol but also a laudable hygienic ways of life by cleaning properly their surrounding and planting some saplings around the quarantine building.
The inmates also told the officials that they raised a donation on daily basis and keep inside a bottle to be hand over to the villagers after their surveillance period as returned gifts for their concerned and love towards them while they also pray every morning and evening for the well being of the villagers as they do for them.
