Imphal: With the Covid-19 lockdown 3.0 imposed in the country and State, State Police still continues to crack down curfew and lock down violators, who are not wearing face mask in public and not maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press note stated that fine of sum of Rs. 63,540 was collected from around 556 curfew and lockdown violators and 464 vehicles that were detained during a drive conducted on Monday.
ADGP (LO) in the press note has warned those who violates the curfew and lockdown will be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The detained violators, vehicles and fines were collected from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Senapati and Ukhrul District Police Stations during the drive carried out on Monday, respectively.
