IMPHAL: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Students’ Union (RIMSSU) has extended its gratitude towards director A. Santa Singh for bringing positive changes for the students of the institute.
In a press statement of RIMSSU issued by president Rohit Shilal on Saturday, it was mentioned that RIMS was ranked 28th and 38th among Medical Colleges and Institute in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in years of 2019 and 2020 which was a notable achievement under his administration.
The statement added that after Dr Santa became the director of RIMS the lecture hall which used to get flooded during the monsoon season has been renovated and also street lights were installed in and around the campus of RIMS.
While all dilapidated street lights near boys’ hostel and girls’ hostel have been sorted out and lighted, Dr. Santa also solved the long awaited reform in the mess system by taking quick administrative response, added the RIMSSU president in the statement.
Dr Santa repaired roads connecting hostels, college also solved the hostel’s water crisis that has adversely affecting the institute, moreover he renovated the hostels and installed lights in the basketball court for the students, the release informed.
The statement further said that the director modernized and renovated the hospital building by procuring and installing the latest medical equipment namely MRI Machine, ICU Ventilator, BiPap Auto, 600 and 100 mA X-Ray machine, Echocardiography Machine, High End Ultrasound Machine, High End Anaesthesia Workstation, Holter Machine, Manifold plant in ICU and Wards, Multiparameter Monitor, Brain Retractor system etc.
