IMPHAL: The authority of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has requested the public not to create an atmosphere of discrimination and fear psychosis towards the doctors, nursing officials, paramedics and other frontline workers of the institute.

In a press release issued by its Media Advisor N. Philip Singh it was reported that doctors, nursing officials, paramedics and other frontline workers of RIMS have been facing social stigmatisation related to Coronavirus from people in their localities during the last few months.

They have been serving the nation as warriors fighting the battle against Coronavirus and it is high time that we should start to appreciate them in this difficult time, the note added.

It further mentioned that one should not engage in breaking the morale of the Coronavirus warriors but instead salute them for the work they and reckoning that just because they are working with patient does not mean that they are affected, he added.

Hence, the RIMS authority was deeply anguished to see such report that doctors, nursing officials, paramedics and other frontline workers are being ostracized in their own localities, the release further stated while calling on every citizen be united in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and defeat it.
