Bishnupur:As a support to the lockdown imposed by the State Government to contain from Covid-19 in the state and to maintain the students of Leimapokpam Government Public High School to remain in their respective homes, rice was distributed to around 304 students of the school studying in Class 1 to 5, on Monday.
The rice distribution occasion was jointly carried out by former Head Mistress of the School and State Awardee L. Manglembi, members of School Management Committee, teachers of the school and elected members of Leimapokpam Zilla Parishad and Leimapokpam Gram Panchayat in such to somehow ease the hardship Faced due to the lockdown.
L. Manglembi said that during the lockdown students could not get the rice sanction for Mid Day Meal under SSA as they are unable to attend school.
Thus, under the supervision of ZEO Zone IV Bishnupur N. Tikendrajit, the students were called at the school and the rice was distributed to them with maintaining social distancing.
Meanwhile, Manglembi appeals to the students to stay at their homes during the lockdown and if they had to go out in emergency cases, she further appeals to wear face masks, use hand sanitiser and maintain social distancing.
