Revoke transfer order of CDPO Kpi: AWHA Kpi

KANGPOKPI: The Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association (AWHA), ICDS Project Kangpokpi today a sit-in-protest and rally demonstrating their disappointment over the transferred of its in-charge Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), ICDS Project Kangpokpi.

The association also appealed the concerned department to revoke the transferred orders of Buddhachandra Singh, i/c CDPO, ICDS Project Kangpokpi and issued stay orders in the larger interest and welfare of people and development of the district.

To exhibited their resentment over the transferred of Hundreds of Buddhachandra Singh, i/c CDPO, ICDS Project Kangpokpi, hundreds of Anganwadi workers and helpers under ICDS Project Kangpokpi stage sit-in-protest in front of the office of Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Project Kangpokpi and also held a short distance rally within the area.

The disappointed Anganwadi workers and helpers also displayed a placard written, “Revoke transfer order”, “Don’t transfer our CDPO”, “We want Buddhachandra Singh only”, etc. during the sit-in-protest and rally.

Highlighting the exemplary service and commitment of the i/c CDPO, ICDS Project Kangpokpi, Buddhachandra Singh for the welfare of the department, workers and helpers in particular and the people in general, Nemvah Lupheng, of the Anganwadi worker said that the sit-in-protest and rally was organized to show our resentment over his transfer and as well as our wish to have him back as our CDPO.

She also such dedicated and committed officer is hard to find and very rare especially in a department like ICDS and we do not want him to leave us right now while appealing the state Government and the concerned Department especially the Social Welfare Minister to revoke his transfer order and issue stay order.

The association also submitted a representation signed by its President Nengneilam Kipgen and General Secretary Joyshree Kamei to Okram Henry, Social Welfare Minister through Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi.

It stated that Buddhachandra Singh is the most sincere and hardworking officer the ICDS Project Kangpokpi ever had till today and under his leadership the ICDS Project Kangpokpi achieved the top position amongst the hill district in Poshan Maah program for two consecutive years during September 2019 and September 2020.

It also said that Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP), Wheat based Nutrition Programme (WBNP) and other materials meant for the beneficiaries are distributed regularly under the supervision of Buddhachandra Singh.

He relentlessly encouraged the Anganwadi workers and helpers, give proper guidance and conduct training programme for the workers and helpers at all times. He paid regular visit to the Anganwadi centres even in the interior most location of the district. He is found to have established a cordial relation with the workers and helpers and considerate to the general public by always listening to their grievances in matter related to beneficiaries under his project, it added.

The association while conveying their resentment, appealed the concerned authority especially the Social Welfare Minister to revoke the transfer order in the best interest of the association and the project and welfare of the people of Kangpokpi in general.
