Retired paramedics asked to report to CMOs

IMPHAL: Stepping up the preparedness effort to contain the looming Covid-19 pandemic, the Manipur state medical directorate has asked all paramedics who have retired during the last three years to report to the respective Chief Medical Officer.

All the CMOs in the state have also been instructed by the state authority to report the names and contact numbers of those retired paramedics who falls under the category. This designations under the head of paramedic includes staff nurse, nursing sister, ANM/FHW, pharmacist, MHW and MHS.

Speaking to exclusive media persons on Tuesday, director of Health Services, K Rajo Singh, stated that those paramedics who had retired during the last three years will be pressed into service if any emergency situation arises so as to make sure there is no shortage of health workers in combating the deadly virus.
