IMPHAL: Considering the visible problems encountered in procuring food products during the Covid-19 outbreak, the City police station, Khalsa Brigade, Bidhan Chakraborty and Tapan Das, Imphal West have distributed relief materials to working journalists at Manipur Press Club on Sunday.
The distribution of relief materials included items namely potato, onion, face mask, soap, dal, rice, pen, notepad and sanitizers etc.
Bidyapati Thingbaijam, SDPO Imphal said that relief materials were distributed under the initiative of Imphal West SP K. Meghachandra for those media persons working in the field in this worst situation Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown and also as a token of love and appreciation to all journalists who has dedicated their lives and risk their life in this critical situation.
The SDPO gave his acknowledgment to all journalists’ in the state on behalf of the entire police department. He appealed to all journalists to share cooperation with the police department in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic in the coming days.
President of AMWJU Bijoy Kakchingtabam said that the police department and journalists have increased the intensity of cooperation with one another from the past years. He agreed that in order to defeat this disease, cooperation between police department and journalists’ is very much important. He promised that all the journalists will continue to give their contribution in spreading awareness and news to all citizens till the situation come to a normalcy in the state.
On the other hand, Young Pioneer Handicapped Person’s Development Organization, Manipur provided relief edible items like potato, onions and cabbages for the media houses and the items were also distributed to media persons subsequently.
