IMPHAL: The state reported 345 new positive cases in the last 24 hours while the deadly virus claimed three more lives racing the total death cases to 127.
The three patients who passed away were a 70- year old woman, 35-year old man, both from Bishnupur and a 58-year old man from Noney in the last 24 hours. They expired at Raj Medicity, JNIMS and RIMS respectively due to the viral infection, informed the state Health department.
Thursday’s daily bulletin of Covid Common Control Room reported 345 more fresh positive cases including 339 from the general population and six from Central Armed Police Force personnel, pushing the tally to 16,621.
332 from among the general population are locally transmitted with no significant history of travelling outside the state, informed the statement.
The fresh positive cases were detected at RIMS-41, Churachandpur-17, Bishnupur-15, Christian Hospital-1, Escent diagnostics-1, Kakching-1, Raj Medicity-19, Imphal East-30, Tengnoupal-4, Thoubal-23, Swiss Hospital-1, JNIMS-34, Sky Hospital-1, Tamenglong-25, Jiribam-1, Ukhrul-1, Kangpokpi-2, Mother’s care- 2, Advance Hospital-2, Babina Diagnostics-13, Asian Hospital-1, Chandel-3, Senapati-4, and Imphal west-102.
The positive cases from among the civilians include 154 from Imphal West district, 71 from Imphal East, 31 from Thoubal, one each from Jiribam, Kakching, two from Ukhrul, four from Chandel, 25 from Tamenglong, 17 from Churachandpur, four from Tengnoupal, six from Senapati and 23 from
Bishnupur. All the infected patients are being shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the Health Department.
On Wednesday, altogether 196 persons were discharged from various COVID care Hospitals.
They were discharged from CAPF- 22, Home isolation-25, JNIMS-2, RIMS-15, PR Kakching-8, Sadhbhavna-6, CCC Lanva-3, CCC UNACCO-43, LKK-26, Tamenglong-2, Kangpokpi-11, TK Ukhrul-7, CCC Lamding-2, Thoubal-18, JNV Chandel-2, DH Chandel-2, Jiribam-2.
With 12,393 having recovered, the state’s total active cases stood at 4101. Recovery rate declined to 74.56 percent on Thursday.
