IMPHAL: The Protection and Preservation committee Manipur (PPCM) has distributed essentials items to less fortunate villagers of Nungsai Chiru which it claimed have been neglected by the state government so far.
In the press release the PPCM stated the Nungsai village which is in Kangpokpi district but lies in close proximity to the old D.C office of Bishnupur district were provided the items as a gesture of support in the middle of the pandemic of Covid-19 and lockdown and curfew in the state.
The PPCM mentioned that the essentials items have been distributed selectively to the most genuinely needy villages among the different communities of the state like, Hongman Tangkhul, Ting-Tong (T.Seijang), Purm Likli, Thangal Surung and the three Koireng village and an orphanage home of the HIV positive people in the past.
The PPCM in return received vegetables items like plantain stem and local onion from the villagers of Nungsai as a token of appreciation to the committee and the items were subsequently handed over to SP Meghachandra of Imphal west police for distribution to fellow police personnel who are the frontline warrior of Covid-19 of the state, the PPCM convener added.
PPCM furthered mentioned that such mutual help would bring peaceful co-existence among the communities in the state. The items which were distributed to the villagers were 6 bags of rice (50 kgs), 2 bags of salt, 2 bags of potato and 2 bags of onion.
